Just a short post this weekend, because spring is a busy time of the year! I got out for a few hours this morning on the hunt for morels, and while I came up empty handed on them, I did still find a few scores –

mushrooms

Got a nice collection of pheasant back mushrooms and a small handful of ramps. I think I’m going to make a nice mushroom stock for the freezer (will be great in soups during this winter) with the mushrooms, and the ramps I’ll probably saute up with a little bacon and kale that I picked up from the farmer’s market, to serve alongside baked chicken.
